I'm looking forward to this. A healthy discount available on pre-orders from Amazon...

I'm looking forward to the launch at the NNCC Symposium in June...

| So, everybody that went to the Symposium, what's the story? I see, on Amazon, that the book has been put back to the end of October?

| Hengus, There was no story. If I recall correctly, Myles Archibald made a brief reference during the opening welcome that the book had been delayed but unless I missed something, there was no explanation. There were proof pages on display though, so I don't think the book is far away from completion and the October launch date was also mentioned at the event. The slot in the agenda when the book was to be launched was filled with another topic. Overall, the Symposium was a great day, just a little let down by the fact that the organsiers had failed to appreciate that Powerpoint slides aren't visible when projected onto a screen in a brighlty lit marquee! All credit to the presenters who gave informative and, at times, humorous presentations despite the fact that most of their slides were invisible, at least to those not sitting in the front few rows. No doubt the event will be reported elsewhere, but it was stated that there were 25+ NN authors in attendance responsible for more than 30% of all titles - a pretty good show! For those who didn't attend, I think the third event is planned for 2013, although no dates yet. Bill

| Couldn't agree more. The presentations were excellent - informative, entertaining and waffle-free. I've long missed the British gift of lucid and learned lecturing. So this day was pure enjoyment. And the problem of screen invisibility actually added to the entertainment (if not information) value, with many apt and humorous asides, topped in the afternoon by Tim Roper's observation that all his illustrations had been taken at night! It was an extremely pleasant and rewarding occasion, meeting so many of the authors and presenters. Those who weren't there really missed an outstanding event. My thanks to everyone. John B

Email from Amazon this morning stating:
"Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:
Tim Bernhard, Tim Loe "Collecting the New Naturalists"
Estimated arrival date: June 11 2013 - June 13 2013"
A bit disappointing ... :-(

| I agree __ if this book was so close to publication why do we have to wait just under 3 years Think we need a comment please Collins - Also tidy up the website please (one doesn't need to look closely why) but if the current problem leads to Spam etc then many people will be mighty annoyed Are our details safe?
