Will there be leatherbound editions and what is the print run, does anyone know?

Having read how they are made I am tempted!

I see from the web site that copies of leatherbound Dragonflies, Islands, Grouse, S England & Wildfowl are all still available. Demand for these leatherbounds would appear not to be great! I guess the recession will be a major factor so HC may be having a rethink on the numbers the new titles are limited to? The very first one, Woodlands, was in great demand as there were only 100 produced. At £250 per copy I think all future leatherbound issues will need to be pretty exclusive to attract sales. Thoughts HC?

According to the section of the website dealing with leatherbound sales, Dartmoor will soon be available and limited to just 100 copies.

The latest date I have from the binder for Dartmoor leatherbound editions is 1st October - they tend to lag behind the standard book publication date because of the extra work that goes into them once the book blocks are available. But we will be enabling pre-order on this website in the next few weeks for leather and signed editions, so you can reserve a special edition or two of Dartmoor ahead of publication.

With the new site and automated stock checks we can sell the last few copies of previous leather editions. (Because we the old site did not have an automated stock check, we manually stopped sales just before we were sold out, to make sure we could fulfill all orders).

Hi Alex, according to the web site, signed editions of Dartmoor are 'Sold out' but not available until 3 Sep. Leatherbound editions are also 'Sold out'.

Hopefully this is not the case so could you please advise when signed copies & leatherbound copies will be available to order.

Thanks

I seem to remember this happened with previous Leather editions - they were marked as Sold Out before they'd even been offered for sale.
Another NN 'idiosyncrasy' no doubt.

Please, Alex, can we have a definite date on which these editions will be offered for sale?

Thanks

What's happened is that the special editions (leatherbound and signed hardback) have been mistakenly given the same publication date as the standard hardback edition of Dartmoor. The system has then run a check on the stock and when finding none available made the assumption that it has sold out.

However because Ian Mercer is coming into HarperCollins later this month to sign the hardbacks and because the leather bound editions take longer to finish by hand, the actual publication date for the leatherbound and signed editions of Dartmoor is 8th October.

I have requested a change on the system to reflect this date. Apologies for the confusion this has caused!

Thanks for the date Alex. Does this mean we need to wait until 8 Oct to order these or is it possible to pre-order from tomorrow?

Alex..I was a little confused here first thing this morning as i previously understood that the signed standard and leathers of Dartmoor could be ordered today on this site, so after seeing none offered by the shop I phoned your service team, asked if it was possible to pre order a signed "Dartmoor" today ..and my order was taken and paid for by card over the phone. i asked if i was now guaranteed my signed copy and was told yes
