| Does anyone know if the Monograph covers will be included in Art of New Naturalists, or if it is just the main series?

Here's a link to the latest prices... don't think I'll buy it at Foyles then.... ;-)

thardy (8/5/2009) Does anyone know if the Monographcovers will be included in Art of New Naturalists, or if it is just the main series?
They are all included (although not all of them get a full page like the Main Series).
I genuinely do love this book - it's exactly what I hoped it would be.

Just received my copy from Amazon (£32.50 thanks to their pre-order guarantee). It is a fantastic book, and I look forward to a closer investigation, but I thought that people who haven't seen it yet might like to see a few pictures (attached to this post - hopefully!). The blue title band on the cover is not printed, but rather a separate wrap - something for the collectors to look after!
The format of the book gives a full spread to every volume from 1-110, with the main image varying between sketches and final artwork, and some description of the creative process and story for each one (for example, see Gillmor being told to delete one of his moles from the sketch for The Soil, in the interests of scientific accuracy!). In addition, there are separate sections on the monographs and some general background on CRE/RG.

So who's got the rare one then? Spot the difference (sorry about the rubbish photograph)!

| Thanks for posting the photos everyone. This book looks really good. I have to say I was worried it would just be a re-hash of some of the stuff in NN82 padded out with some more artwork, but this looks really well thought out. I will order my copy today.

| I've been holding off purchasing The Art of the NN, waiting for Collins to publish a sample chapter on this website (hint)? So many thanks to the forum member for giving us a look into some of the books contents. I too thought it might be a bit thin on content. However it certainly looks like an early Christmas present is in order!

| I have a few copies of Art of the New Naturalists with the the 1st state 'wrong' title band, restricted I believe to about 200 copies. All are signed by both authors. £60? I also have first editions with the correct title band, also signed by Robert and myself. £50? If anyone is interested, please contact me at: peter.marren7@btinternet.com
