You are all treated with the upmost respect Hengus, and updates are posted here. If there are issues that require attention it is best to email newnaturalists@harpercollins.co.uk. This is a forum for fans of the series not for customer complaints. At your request here is the interim status report on packaging from the warehouse: "Next week, I’ll be look at improved methods for the packaging of specialist NN books. I would expect to have improved process in place within 2 weeks."

Perhaps actually treating your customers with a little respect; Perhaps using the forum to feed back responses from the people you have passed on comments to (this forum is littered with such comments from you, with little or no follow up action ever reported); Perhaps actually having a systematic approach to dealing with customer complaints and customer suggestions...perhaps all of these things would 'carry a little more weight' too?

thankyou Alex, but i have to say that "comments passed to the warehouse" previously have not altered this reacurring problem. maybe a visit to the warehouse yourself would carry more weight?

I guess i'll have to bear the brunt for all those who dont complain here, but i recieved my signed copy of "Bird Migration" packed in the usual Collins fiasco..two Very thing cardboard envelopes ..NO packing to stop sliding around inside..corner of "envelope" dented in ..but on opening..a bigger supprise!! the book is fine but for one tiny dent to a corner which i guess i can live with rather than the hassle to send back . End story is ...When ...when....when...are people at Collins who pack these books going to show some respect for a collector whos just forked out £65 ( no small price ) and pack them how they should be packed..ie in a strong box , padded and totally bomb proof. Because Alex if your reading this..its the least that should be done. An answer of ..stop moaning because it arrived undamaged ( well almost ) is simply not good enough. I and others in the past have commented on the packing but nothing ever has really changed...c'mon Collins give the people who buy these books decent packing!

Received signed copy of Bird Migration,very well packed it was actually "double packed" in two cartons,much better than last received,Regards Frank.

By now many people will be receiving their signed copies of NN113, Bird Migration, and I wonder how many will have to be returned due to damage. Mine arrived this morning with two badly bumped corners... the book was sent out in an unsealed cardboard box, free to slide around, offering little or no protection whatsoever.

Thankfully there are still copies available, so I should be able to get a replacement, [b]but if too many are returned will Collins go back to the author for another signing?[/b]

Collins arranges to have 100 hardback copies of every new title signed by the author which we sell exclusively through this website. The books are shipped to the author, or where possible the author comes to us. After signing the books are carefully re-shrinkwrapped ready to be delivered to customers.
