I have built up a collection of earlier "new naturalists" of over 50 volumes from Ebay and book fairs etc. and have never paid more than £10 for a volume, These are admittedly often well used but good reading copies often with dust jackets. I got a nearly mint copy of The Broads by Ellis for £1!! You just have to keep your eyes open!

I have 2 young children aged 4 & 6 & it is a struggle costwise for 4 titles (I think this year) + Art of the New Naturalists in a year so 3 per year would be a bit of a relief. Building a collection also means buying further titles from the past, most of which cost more than the original issue price!!

With 3 new titles per year, at least I will have the opportunity to purchase more POD titles!

Amazon have displayed the cover design for 112 Books and Naturalists by David Allen. Is that the famous Gilmour printing press depicted?

Please note that Collins will be reducing New Naturalists publications to three titles per year.

Here are the publication dates for forthcoming New Naturalists titles. Our limited signed and leatherbound editions will be available for pre-order here ten weeks prior to publication.

Books and Naturalists: 4th February 2010

Bird Migration: 1 April 2010

Badger: 27 May 2010

Subsequent titles will be published in September, January and April.
