Alister Hardy

Adam Watson was born in Turriff, Aberdeenshire. He has studied ptarmigan and red grouse since 1943 and has written numerous publications on grouse species and other wildlife. A scientist and broadcaster, Adam graduated with a BSc (first class honours in zoology) at Aberdeen, was a founder of the Aberdeen branch of the Scottish Ornithologists Club and has accompanied ecologists on their fieldwork in Iceland, Norway, Canada and Alaska.
